Brie was one of Dan's and Rebecca's rescue chickens.
She was rescued by Dan and Rebecca in February 2023 at the age of 18 months, from a hen farm which slaughters the hens when they reach that age. She passed away October 30th, 2023.
Life[]
Brie was named after the character from Desperate Housewives. While the farm she came from was officially termed "free-range", Dan and Rebecca have said the living circumstances there were still "quite awful". When she was rescued, Brie was quite nervous and quite plucked naked. As she settled into the lovely coop and living space Dan and Rebecca has built for her and the other chickens, she bloomed a little and gained back her feathers.
After a series of health issues and medical interventions, Brie passed away in Dan's arms on October 30th, 2023.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content
