Matt Collins, known by their online alias Mattophobia, was born in July 1994 in Ireland From 2017 to 2024 they served as the Chief Operating Officer for Nerd Cubed Limited. They were born in Ireland but moved to the UK at a young age. Collins currently resides in Liverpool.

Matt is known for being the former public relations and community-manager at NerdCubed, and as such, they helped maintain the NerdCubed servers as well as the Subreddit. Matt appeared on many YouTube videos with Dan as well as streams, celebration videos as well as Podcasts. Their role was multifaceted and involved, later on in their career at NerdCubed, managing the Patreon exclusive prints being mailed globally.

Matt hosts streams on their personal Twitch. Collins has also written and published a book, under the pen-name Mattias Ophobia Almerez, about their everyday thought-process known as "Inside the Mind of Mattophobia" which details the life and emotions of Matt while working at NerdCubed.

History

Prior to being hired, Collins ran the /r/NerdCubed subreddit, and was involved in the original NerdCubed fanservers . This is how they originally were found by Nerd³. They first met Dan at EGX 2012, hosted within the former Earls Court Exhibition Centre located in London, which has since been demolished.

Trivia

• They wrote a book called "Inside the Mind of Mattophobia," which can be bought from Amazon. According to 'The Podcats Return' which broadcast on the 23rd October 2019, the book has sold around 300 copies.
• Their catchphrase is "Fuck."
• In the 2.5 Million Subscriber Special (The Henderson Challenge) on Nerd³'s channel, they said 281 swear-words during the one video alone.
• Starting with livestream technical issues, Matt has been haunted by the phrase/hashtag #MattFuckedUp which is now used whenever NerdCubed has problems.
• Dan got Matt a Cameo from Sean Spicer in which has spawned phrase/hashtag #MattCrushedUp due to Spicer frequently using the phrase "Crush it, Matt."
• In a Kerbal Space Program livestream on the 16th October 2015 wherein Matt's attempt to launch a space station was ruined improved by the intervention of Dan, the chat was flooded by spam and eventually Matt broke down and flew his failed space station into the planet.
• Matt is known to be a fan of the popular game series 'Assassin's Creed' and has many videos of them on his Twitter page.
• He has over 1,000,000 Vine loops, which he said on Twitter terrifies him.
• Matt's middle name is Harold
• Matt could never properly learn French at school due to a wasp-nest. Dan hypothesized that maybe the wasps taught him French..
